Rain, Rain Go Away

Hello! Its another rainy, cloudy, gloomy Sunday. Feels like painting and illustrating weather. I think I am just going to nest today. Also I am getting a cat today! A Devon rex breed. I have allergies and this is my first trial having a cat. I'm nervous, excited and all mixed up because it's new territory for me. I love cats so much and never was able to have them as a child because my mom has allergies too. So, I really hope this works out because lord knows how long I've wanted a cat. In other news, its been rainy all weekend. Yesterday, I woke up to a cloudy morning so, I took pictures from my garage. I didn't want to get caught out in the pouring rain. Surely enough, while I was shooting it really did start raining! Hard! Thank goodness I brought my umbrella down with me. In the pictures below you can see when it started raining and started coming down hard. If you are having bad weather, stay dry and be careful out on the roads!

MY LIFE: On Instagram

Life is something I feel like a lot of folks are not going out to experience because we get so sucked in to the web and being social on the web at all times. So, today and tomorrow I will try to break loose from it and go about enjoying my birthday. I will of course blog about it but not immediately. I post later this week. Here are my instagram posts of the last few weeks. I'll be back in full force on Monday. Enjoy the weekend!

Plato's Closet: Style Remix

Hello! Today is my second week of Style Remix Wednesday. This outfit was chosen because I have worn this dress a bunch of times and did not know what to do with it. Truly it is more so one of my fall pieces because it is easier to layer in the cooler months. But since I am wearing my end of summer and pre-fall items I figured why not do a fall preview. They last time I wore this I wore opaque green tights with brown lace up boots, cardigan, a scarf and a knitted hat. This time around I chose to pair it with a sequined blouse worn beneath the dress with T-strap Mary Jane pumps for a more vintage feel. I feel that when wearing a classic vintage inspired ensemble, less is more. When accessorizing go for the bare minimum. Some rings and things, a small necklace or a head scarf(which I chose not to wear because I wanted to show off my faux beehive). Here are details from the rest of my outfit.

Outfit Details:
Salmon Chevron Rounded Collared Dress: Plato's Closet Greenway
Sequin Collared Blouse: Rue21
Squirrel Necklace: Handmade
T-Strap Mary Jane Pump: Mia Shoes via Plato's Closet Memorial City
Love Punch Belt: Thrifted
Rings and Things: Shasa
All Day Disco Sunnies: ModCloth

I also was lucky enough to plan out my day to capture the best lighting during the magic hour. To be honest my photo shoots with Dan are getting better and better every time we go out to shoot. I am so glad he is learning so quickly. As I am learning so many new things about the wonders of photoshop filters and text within frame. I feel like my work is becoming more professional and for that I am proud of my progress thus far. I can wait to dive in this semester with Illustrator and such. Here are the close up details of my outfit.

SUMMER INSPIRATION

Hello all, Today has been pretty slow at work. However, I found myself a new photographer in training. So hopefully I can have more outfits posts daily. Anyway, today's post is about my inspiration for the summer months. It is well into the 90s daily and need to stay cool. So over the past 4 years living in Texas, I find that there is a trend in my fashion choices during the warmer months:

Its all about high waisted shorts, ballet flats, dresses, rompers and wedges. I go a bit more into the fifties era and then into the sixties as the temperature rises. Below are some examples of wants and needs this summer.
