Style Remix: Final Fall Transition

Happy Wednesday Readers! So we all know that before we know it summer will be far behind us and fall will be in full swing. But this season it seems like summer is trying to hold on for a while longer. (some places more than others) What do you do? We are all excited for fall layers and colors but the season's not quite here yet. In this final transition to your fall wardrobe, there are a few key summer pieces you may want to stick around, but how do you get away with wearing it during the fall? Well here's news to you! You don't have to pack up every summer item just yet. Chambray is one of the most season friendly pieces a girl can have. Whether its a dress or a buttoned down, you can always bet on chambray to save the day.

Here's how to make it work.
This plaid chambray dress is adorable for summer time and is great when paired with a pop-color flat or white. But, you can also "fall it down" by pairing it with a light knit cardigan with an autumn tone to it. (i.e. Burnt orange, deep purple, mustard, navy, or another neutral color.) Add some tights.(Patchwork tights, or an opaque bold color like burgundy, brown or my periwinkle colored tights.) The shoes are really up to you but stick with darker neutrals and play with your options. Ankle boots, brouges with knee highs, or pumps would look great. I paired my chambray outfit with grey vintage Mary Jane pumps I found while thrift during the summer. It sets a scholastic tone with the change in the seasons and gets you pumped for those cooler days to come. My updo was inspired by a tutorial I found on pinterest. Its super easy, really comfy and added a vintage feel to my look. I hope this helps you find a medium between the seasons. What summer pieces do you love that you can't seem to part with?

Outfit Details:

(The item I am holding in my hand is a photo album I found while thrifting. I think I will be printing some photos for it soon.)

  6. Aw, your gingham dress is so sweet. I'd probably never think of pairing it with a burnt orange cardigan, but it's so perfect. They really look like they were made for each other. :-)

  8. Dude, that photo album would make an awesome clutch bag! Haha. <3 I love the cover portion! Your tights slay me, too. Beautiul intricate patterns. I have some navy blue knit socks of a similar pattern that I haven't worn in a year. They're still new. I didn't think they color worked well on my skin tone, but looking at how you used the tights here, I'm inspired to give them a go. :D Super cute accessories, also. The necklace is my favorite piece!

  9. I can't get over how adorable your hair is in these pictures! I have worn my hair like this before, but it has to be half up and half down because my hair is way too long & thick for all of it to curl up in the band! Super adorable. & I love your outfit as always :D
